Montana Modern,

Manhattan MT

Montana Modern was one of the most challenging, yet most anticipated projects that I have worked on in a very long time. The home was a new build project in Manhattan Montana and was a complete surprise to be presented after completion to my client’s parents. My clients had recently moved their young family to Bozeman and wanted to build a brand-new home for their parents so that they could also relocate to Montana.

This entire project was implemented over the span of one year without the parents’ knowledge or recommendations. It was refreshing and exciting for me to be able to design an entire home from the plans to the furnishings, having advice and suggestions from the clients regarding the details of their parents’ personalities and style.

Once the corner lot was purchased in Manhattan’s new countryside subdivision, we began the planning process with the architect and builder to create a fresh two-level home with a modern transitional style. Selections for this home included wide plank rustic wood flooring, clean white cabinetry and countertops, natural elements including a dry stack rock fireplace, large windows providing ample light, and décor offering natural earth tones.

Upon completion, my client’s parents flew in with the understanding that they would be touring four homes that were for sale, this build being the last to see. They walked into their new stylish kitchen where we had displayed a family photo, balloons, flowers, and food all presented on the kitchen island.

There was a sign reading “Welcome Home!” and they toured their home in complete disbelief. Happy tears and smiles flowed that day and they still, to this day, continue to express their appreciation of their new lovely home in Montana.
